Hail to the Queen...2010


Megan Wolfinger

            My name is Megan Wolfinger and I am honored to represent the Wisconsin Buckskin Horse Association as their 2010 queen.  I am 21 years old and am from Greenville, WI.  My parents are Jim and Cindy Wolfinger, and I have a fifteen year old sister, Nikki, who helps me considerably at the shows.  I am a junior this year at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and I am a biology major with a chemistry minor.  I work hard to maintain my spot on the Dean’s list, and I plan on applying to veterinary school this summer.

            In addition to showing horses, I enjoy hunting with my father, fishing, boating, and spending time at our cabin in Crandon, WI.  I am president of the pre-vet club at UW-Oshkosh, and belong to Pre-Health Professionals of Oshkosh, and the National Society of Leadership and Success.

            This is my fourth year showing my red dun gelding, Hesa Lopin Sonny, and this year I plan on competing in Amateur All-Around for the first time at the world show.  It has been quite the adventure.  When I bought Gunner, he had never been ridden, and I had never showed.  We both had a lot of learning to do!  I had a blast at the 2008 IBHA World Show, and it was there that I decided that I wanted to run for Miss Buckskin World.  After meeting the queens and other riders that year, I have truly made some lifelong friends.  IBHA has always felt like one big family to me, and I would be honored to represent this club as Miss Buckskin World.  Good luck to everyone this year, be safe, and I look forward to seeing you all in Memphis!
